So, Monday we went back to the hospital for more testing and evaluation. When we came in the Dr. said to just expect to stay at the hospital all day and possibly overnight, but that unless he sees some bad numbers in the test results that we would not be having the baby then. Well, they decided to give me another IV. Unfortunately, because I have bad veins, it took them 3 tries to get my IV in. OUCH!!! I joked with the nurse that they better take the baby with this IV because they would run out of places to put the IV. They then sent me down to get an ultrasound of the baby to make sure she was doing ok. At the end of the ultrasound we did not get a good score (4/8 was the score. Saturday she got an 8/8). The Dr. didn't like the score and decided that we would have the C-section scheduled for Tuesday morning. About an hour later he came back in and said that the schedule for surgeries was pretty full for Tuesday and wanted to know if we were ok with having the delivery be for that evening (Monday). I, of course, was perfectly ok with that! Mom had decided she would come out, so we called her to let her know of the date change and she took about 15min to pack and was on the next flight out of The Cities to come out and help, even though it was her anniversary. At 6:15 they took me to the surgery room to start my spinal tap. Going with the theme of this whole pregnancy, "Be Difficult", it took three tries to get my spinal tap in. But once the tap was in, I was happy as a clam! Craig was able to actually watch the birth of our daughter, QuinElla Ivy, born at 7:09 PM. She was 4lbs 13oz and was 16" long. I found out, thanks to Quin, that I have an allergic sensitivity to morphine (it makes me itch like crazy), as well as to the tape that they put over my stitches (when I took it off it took skin with it, then I got blisters wherever the tape was). We are all home now (Thursday) and recovering nicely.
