We all knew this day would come...

Ever since we started putting Konrad in his big boy car bed we found out that he had a little quirk; he would not get out of his bed unless we were in the room. It was wonderful! He would scream and throw stuff and yell, but he would not get out of bed until we opened the door and told him he could get out. Well, all of that ended today. He was in bed, for his nap, and to my amazement I hear his little petter patter across the floor. I didn't think it was him, I thought I was hearing noises from the other apartments. But sure enough, after a few seconds I hear a knock on the inside of his door and a little voice say "Mom?". I went over and opened the door...... and there he is with a mock "I don't know what happened" look on his face. He quickly jabbers something and hands me his cup and tries to run past me into the hall. No Go! I pick him up and put him back in bed. He stands there in his bed, cup in hand, crying his little head off. The screaming continued for 15 min with him running around the room, yelling, and periodically laying on the floor to yell under the door. I finally let him out when I realized he wasn't going to go back to sleep. An hour later, Daddy put him in bed. He has been asleep for hours now. Why does he yell for mommy and sleep for Daddy. This is going to be a long year for me.

FunnyKC

For those of you who don't know, Konrad has a major sweet tooth- especially when it comes to M&M's. Well, several months ago I bought a big bag of them for decorative purposes (my kitchen colors include blue and orange and I needed something to bring those colors in). Well, since that time we have to constantly be hiding the leftover M&M's from the little monster. Well today he found them. He quickly pulled the bag out, opened it up, and grabbed a huge handful of the colorful goodies. Craig and I both yelled at him as he pulled his hand out of the bag. What was his reaction? He ran- M&M's flying everywhere! He then proceeded to shove a handful into his mouth and turned to daddy, stuck out his chin and said "Mmmmmmmm Mmmmmm Mmmmmm". What a taunting little booger! The bag is now hid WAY over his head and out of sight.

First signs of fall

Today we broke down and bought a two seater stroller. Man I feel like a mom with two kids now. It is official! By pushing a small bus around a park I attract a lot of attention and I might as well be screaming "I HAVE TWO YOUNG KIDS! LOOK OUT!" On the plus side I got out of the house with two kids and my husband, and we all returned home unharmed! LOL. While KC and Craig played at the playground, Quin and I took a walk around the whole park. While on our walk we saw our first signs of fall- a beautiful tree half green and half gold. The sun was shining through the tree, it was gorgeous!

It reminded me of a poem I wrote a few years back.

As Autumn whispers of
The winter to be
I sit and I ponder
On things that I see

Brilliant colors of death
Red, orange, and yellow
So cheerful and bright
Yet so somber and mellow

The painting of nature
Perfectly placed
I sit and I ponder
Over leaves of grace
