Craig's Version of Playing With KC

This is Craig's version of playing with KC. What is going on? he has a piece of string that he attached to KC's walker and was pushing him backwards and then pulling him close. When he (Craig) got bored with that he tried to "lasso" the baby. Aren't I soooo lucky to have married such a man!

Top 10 things I learned as a stay-at-home mom

#1 Babies are SMART!
My baby has learned how to get what he wants when he wants it. HE runs the house. HE determines when and how long we sleep, when we (and he) eat, etc. Innocent my butt!!!

#2 If you can get 2 showers a week you are doing GOOD!
The baby gets at least 3 baths a week, yet somehow I can only manage to get 2 showers. I tried having a bath with him, but found out that it is a two person job whereas I can bathe him myself if he gets a sink bath (which is not going to be possible in about two weeks. He is growing so fast).

#3 Clean houses with children are an urban legend.
Seriously! Need I say more?

#4 Children stuff grows on its own!
Somehow the babies stuff ends up EVERYWHERE and seems to multiply on its own!

#5 Time?! What time?!
Time no longer exists as it once did. I am beginning to wonder if Einsteins theories of time and relativity were concocted as he was sleep deprived as a stay-at-home dad. His theories are now beginning to make sense!

#6 Neighbors SUCK!!!
They complain when your baby cries, yet they slam doors, walk and talk loudly, drop things, etc. to wake up your baby but somehow it is YOUR fault that the baby is crying!???!!! I don't think so!!!!!

#7 Cheesy quotes really help!
When I am having a hard day (or days) I think of cheesy quotes that pull me through. Example: "no accomplishment can compensate for failure in the home" or "Enjoy today because they grow up so fast" etc.

#8 Sleep is a thing of the past!
I do get to sleep, but it is in spurts and riddled with "was that the baby?" or "wait! how long has it been since I heard him breathe?" or "I need to make sure he is not dead!" *I really am not exaggerating!

#9 Tater tots, Corn dogs and Canned Corn is a HEALTHY meal!
That is as gourmet as I get now! So sad!!!

#10 Leaving the house is a luxury!
I get out of the house about once every other day. The baby doesn't travel well, and it is hard getting out of the house once daddy comes home. I am sooo sick of the inside of my house!!!!

Funny Toy Finding

Isn't it funny how you spend money on baby toys only to find out they like something else. My baby likes.... wait for it.... my couch pillow! He can't get enough of it!!

Mommy Vs. Daddy

What is it about genetics that makes a mommy be able to clean a house, cook meals, change diapers, make bottles, do dishes, do the laundry, and take a short nap while a daddy in the same situation can't seem to figure out how to do anything but hold the baby and ask the mommy to do everything else?

A funny thing happened last night. I had been taking care of KC all day and had entertained a friend for 3 hours at the house. I managed to cook lunch (twice baked potatoes), clean the house, and take care of the baby all day (who was crying 70% of the time he was awake) all while feeling like I just wanted to crawl into bed because I was not feeling well. By the time Craig came home (an hour late) my back felt like a solid rock and was spasming (the only way to get KC to stop crying is to walk him around the house). I was on the verge of tears when Craig came home and I asked him to take care of the baby while I laid down for the evening. He agreed (what a great husband).

I couldn't sleep because I couldn't get comfortable with my back so out and around 7pm I realized I hadn't eaten since 12. I asked Craig if he could cook something for dinner. He happily agreed. At 8 he came in and asked what I wanted for dinner. I told him I really didn't care. At 9 he asked if Ramon Noodles would be ok. I said sure. At 9:15 he asked if I could check on the noodles for him because the baby had fallen asleep on him and he didn't want to move. I went over and finished dinner (everything except serving it up. At about 9:45 we finally ate.

Craig could figure out why I was laughing while we ate dinner! What would the poor man do if something happened to me and he had to survive on his own? It took him almost 3 hours to make Ramon Noodles!!!!! He would starve!!!!!!

The look of defeat.... or resignation

As I have aforementioned my baby loves to pull faces. His latest? the look of resignation. He will fuss and fuss and if he doesn't get his way he pulls this look. He squints his eyes (the Evil Eye) puckers his lips and just looks at you. It is so funny!!! Here is the look with minimal Evil Eye (stage 1 of the resignation look).
