KC Video's

Great Baby Craft

KC is teething and needs a new chew toy, so I came up with a way to make one- actually two (and it only took me about 15 min)!
All you need are:
1 washcloth
some fabric (I used an old receiving blanket)
2 toy links

Take a piece of fabric that is 1 1/2" wide by 2" long and fold it in half so that the face is on the inside and sew it. Turn it right side out and roll it into a circle. Sew it onto the center of the washcloth by taking your circle and sew it right down the middle of the circle (so it creates 2 smaller circles).

Cut out the fabric so that there is 1" of fabric extra on each side of the washcloth and pin it to the washcloth (make sure that the circles you made are on the outside (or showing)). Sew a design around the circles you made so that you are adhering the center of the fabric to the center of the washcloth.

Use the 1" of extra fabric around the outside of the washcloth to create a binding between the washcloth and the fabric (fold the fabric in half and fold that half over the washcloth and sew).

Put toy links in the center circles and give to your teething baby. It is water proof and drool proof. Throw it in the bathtub or give to the baby to play with, then just take out the links and wash. So FUN!!!

Frustration!!!

I am sooo frustrated today! I understand that I am a control freak when it comes to my life, and it frustrates me to "let go" of things. I am frustrated about how hard it is for Craig to find a job. I feel like my whole life is on hold and we are just waiting for "something" to happen. I know that it will all turn out alright in the end, it is just hard to let go of now and trust in the future. I'm working on it, but it is so dang hard!!!!!!

6 months of Konrad

Can you believe that my baby is 6 months old? I can't! He is progressing so quickly it is amazing to me. Here is a quick overview for those of you not as obsessed with my child as I am!
Birth
Konrad Cedric "KC" Deetz was born on January 16, 2009 two months early. He weighed 3lbs 7oz and was (about) 15" long.

One Month

KC is ready to leave the NICU at the hospital and go home since he has reached the 5lb mark and is eating out of the bottle. He is now around 17" long and by the 23rd he weighs 6lbs 8oz!!
Two Months Old

At two months KC is already 8lbs 10oz and 19 3/4" long. He is having eating and sleeping problems and we find out he has acid reflux. Because of that he sleeps on his stomach and gets rice cereal in his bottle. He looks just like his daddy & is such a daddy's boy!
Three Months Old
Doing well. The reflux is getting better, but he is cranky and likes to be held a lot.
Four Months Old

Grandma bought him a walker and KC loves being able to stand up and look at people. He is now 23" tall and weighs 14lbs!!! He is beginning to become talkative and LOVES being the center of attention. He has started eating cereal and is loving "big boy" food.

Five Months

Konrad has learned how to give kisses (among other things). He is adorable and completely stubborn and opinionated. He is able to move around in the walker with the help of a booster under his feet and he loves the freedom it provides! He is desperately wanting the freedom of moving on his own. Heaven help us when he begins to crawl!!! He is able to roll from his stomach to his back, but demands we roll him back over. He still hates being on his back!

Six Months Old

KC loves to smile and make people laugh. He is rolling all over the place and very close to being able to crawl. He recently found it feet and it is soooo cute! He says 'hi' sometimes and loves putting anything and everything into his mouth. He is finally "on the chart" for all of his measurements. He is 16lbs 10oz (25%) and is 25" long (5%). He has such a cute personality when he is happy and can be a monster when he is not.
We love our baby and are enjoying watching him grow into such a handsome little man!
